Aid and Relief for Sierra Leone Communities
Working with Al-Imdaad Foundation MIAT provided operations to over 50 young girls who had developed recto-vaginal fistulae as a result of very difficult or blocked deliveries during labour. These young girls smell of toilet as they have no control of their urine or bowels. As a result, their families don’t want them and they can’t get employment. Many commit suicide. These operations cost £400 each but cured these girls and changed their lives.
