Collaboration with Royal College of Paediatrics and Save the Children’s Fund
Professor Gatrad OBE chief executive of Midland International Aid Trust sets up a collaborating with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health which will facilitate the work of Save the Children’s Fund in Gujarat.

Returning from Gujarat in February 2014 after a memorable visit , Professor Gatrad immediately set about building on the success of all the medical projects in Gujarat. He recently met up with the head of International Affairs, Steve Crump, at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in London.
Three representatives of the Royal College/Save the Children Fund will fly out with Prof Gatrad at the end of August 2014. It is hoped that with this triple collaboration the landscape in Gujarat will change dramatically and thousands will benefit. Prof Gatrad is hoping the Save the Children will help with rolling out the vaccination programme to prevent diarrhoea in children. One of the goals of the Royal College is to set up Emergency Triad services in developing countries and the infrastructure already set up in Gujarat with the help of Dr Bashir, secretary General of the Decent Welfare Society, gives the project a head start. It is hoped that many of the projects will jointly be run from the new maternity hospital being built in Gujarat.
