Supporting Health and Education Initiatives in Malawi
It is the birthplace of Professor Gatrad.
Our main charitable work is in Pakistan and Malawi. This is a result of having taken years to build up reliable teams that can sustain our projects and more importantly those who we can Trust. In Pakistan, it is DR Ijaz Bashir and in Malawi, it is Irfan Gatrad – nephew of Professor Gatrad.
In Malawi, MIAT supports Sparkle Foundation in Zomba with books, iPads, playground equipment and bicycle ambulances. MIAT donates money for monthly purchases of medications for regular use for the indigenous population. Thousands of food parcels and hand pumps have been provided by MIAT such as iron, vitamins, antibiotics and worm and diarrhoeal treatment.
Cataract operations and cleft operations have also been carried out – the latter facilitated by Haroon Sacranie from Lilongwe. He invites surgical teams to S Africa.
