The Trust has also undertaken ‘one off’ projects such as providing facilities and funding mass marriages both in India and Pakistan. In 2015, 11 marriages were carried out in Pakistan at a cost of £700 each.

Children are at the heart of all that MIAT does. When approached by the Memon community of Leicester £5000 was donated for the building of a sport facility for children.

Professor Gatrad was project manager with Mr Yusuf Patel for the construction of this mosque and community centre 1984-1994

Our Trust is very sympathetic to the work of cancer charities and give regular donations local to age concern, cancer UK etc.

Mosque in the grounds of Jubaida Gatrad maternity hospital

Prof Gatrad with his brother Dr Hamid Gatead is building a mosque dedicated to their parents Mahomed and Jubaida in the grounds of Jubaida Gatrad maternity hospital.
